Geoffrey Shaw-Champion has been researching a talk for the Baildon Civic & Historical Society about the Midland Railway’s Shipley to Guiseley line constructed in 1876. Among other sources, he has been using the resources of the Midland Railway Study Centre, notably a notebook compiled by G. Anderson of Nottingham. Anderson was a newly qualified engineer who recorded his experience working on the Shipley – Guislely line in great detail as part of his training. Having now successfully delivered his presentation to its originally intended audience, Geoffrey has offered to repeat it for us.
