One of the Society’s new marketing measures aims to develop our partnerships with like-minded organisations, such as heritage railways operating former Midland lines, so don’t be surprised if you see posts under “News and Events” which publicise their more important events or their Midland-related projects. You’ll probably have read about the opening of the restored Wingfield Station or the Pullman 150 celebrations at Butterley last year; with the Railway 200 celebrations this year there’ll be many more to follow. It’s hoped that you’ll find these posts helpful, but there is also another idea behind them; if we help other organisations, it should draw their attention to the Midland Railway Society and our activities to promote public interest in the Midland Railway, its predecessors and successors. If you have news about major events or projects along Midland lines, please share it with us.
