Midland Railway WTT Section B, May 1886, Skipton, Bradford, Normanton & Branches

£6.95

Published by Dragonwheel Speciality Reprints. Softback, comb bound, 38 pages of tables.

The Midland Railway divided its working time tables into sections, which were issued as individual booklets or bound into full sets. The page numbering ran continuously through the sections, so that the tables in this section start at page 23. Until 1917, both passenger and freight trains were listed together.

Section B covered services in the Leeds area, from Normanton which in the days of George Hudson was a vital junction for traffic to York and Newcastle, to Skipton beyond which lay the Settle & Carlisle route to Scotland. Traffic ranged from local services to the Scottish expresses, which had to be reversed at Leeds, some with portions to be detached at Shipley for Bradford.

Essential reading for modellers and students of Midland Railway practices.
